Travel log
It's been a few weeks since my awesome vacation with some amazing friends to mangalore and Ooty but I am still reeling in the memories of it. Have you wondered why some instances and situations always remain in your mind, immaterial of how long it has been? I think a lot of this is due to association... Your mind associating these events to something that's important to you, in a good or a bad way.
My Mangalore vacation has lodsa such associations for me. I have a soft corner for this place, mom is from there and I love the simplicity there. Our visit primarily was to attend a friends wedding and WHAT a wedding it was... No less than a royal wedding... The only thing that didn't happen was the groom, who undoubtedly looked like a Prince, throwing gold coins at us mere mortals. :)
This vacation saw us eating like pigs, dressing like angles, dancing on the streets like tribals and having fun like there was no tomorrow. We even got to travel in an auto, which was no less than a Vegas casino, with disco lights, jazzy music (dinka chika types) and wild interiors.
We returned 5 pounds heavier and with a sadistic pleasure that we had lost a happy go lucky friend to the black hole that's marriage. :)
New years eve was celebrated in freezing Ooty... Which ideally should have been in sunny Pondicherry but cyclone played spoilsport. We welcomed the new year in spine numbing cold and not so great music ... But what made it all worthwhile is the friends I was with. I wouldn't have asked for any better way to end a year which saw me suffer in pain on some days and jump in joy in most others.
There was no lack of excitement on this one ... We had flying number plates, vodka filled tender coconuts, wannabe witches and a waterfall which had supposedly taken 50 lives but today looked like someone had peed in there...
Overall, a good start to a year which already shows potential of being the best year of my life.
Loved reading this blog :) Keep them coming.
