OMG!!!

The caveat to this blog is that it isn't about anyone's belief or about religion. It's just my observation and opinion about GOD. Let me also say that I completely believe in a higher power, an energy that's beyond us, an energy that I can't possibly control and that gives me a sense of hope and relief. And to keep myself grounded and humble, I go to temples often... And I go there to soak in the positive energy and say thanks to the world for another happy day..

Moving on..

I recently heard that all the problems with king fisher airlines is because of 2 things. The UB city tower casts a shadow on a Ganesha temple beside UB city and so God isn't too happy about that. Also that Vijay Malya,s dad used to go to his family diety often to do some donations and offerings but V.Malya hasn't gone there in a while and so the diety is angry and is teaching him a lesson.

Do we really believe that GOD is THAT selfish, that he would do bad things just because he didn't get attention from a man HE himself created??? While on one hand we believe that GOD is all encompassing, that all good things come from him but in the same breath we also make him a victim of such baseless cruelty

Growing up, I stayed beside a very "conservative" family. In the name of GOD, the man of the house would do atrocious things. He would pray for hours, do all kinds of godly stuff all through the day but also beat up his wife like crazy coz she didn't do what he thought was " right".  Does that make him a GOD's man? Does giving pain to others bring him closer to GOD? Did he get brownie points from GOD for all the things he did?

The other common belief is to treat women like untouchables on those particular days of the month... My boss calls them " girly days" ;). This is also done in the name of god. I know of horrible fights in many families, mostly started by the mother in law ( another WOMAN) when women resisted this. You think GOD would want us to do it? HE created this cycle for women which largely represents the reproduction of life and WE treat it like it's a decease and horribly ungodly.

Why do we feel the need to drag GOD into such awful practices? Why do we make people feel like GOD only does good to people who do good to him? Do we feel like we won't be able to make people do things unless we create "fear" in their minds? Is it our feeble attempt to keep GOD alive in our minds. Lest we become selfish and fearless? One can never tell

My theory of life is simple. I do what I think is right, I live and let live, I love my life and by doing all this, I am respecting God's creation and that's as far as it matters. So next time you are doing something in the name of God, stop and think. Are you really doing it for God? Or are you trying to cover it up by using his name? Believe in the higher power but also know that you control your life and if you could hear him today, this is exactly what he would say. Do things coz it makes you and your loved ones happy, help others, understand the purpose of your life.. Coz ultimately that's what matters!!!!
