How do you answer these question?

I have a small ligament inflamation in my left arm, painful but nothing bad, so I decided to go and visit my FRIENDLY family doctor. He is the cutest and super friendly and courteous. As I entered his clinic, he smiled and said "Hey, how are you doing?"... and I froze..
What do you say to a doctor who asks you that question...Was he asking it out of courtesy or did he really want to know my physical health condition ? If I said " Hey, I am doing great".. would he throw me out for wasting his time ; for not letting him make money? Would he? How do you answer this question?

I used to have long hair and then one day I went in for a short blunt.. drastically different from my hair style before.. I come to work and this one girl asks me " Did you get a haircut?"... not "Hey, nice haircut" or "I cant believe you cut your hair, it is disgusting"... BUT "DID YOU GET A HAIRCUT?"... I was tempted to say "No, I am shedding.. I shed every winter.." .... Arrggghhh those questions !!

Now that I have publicly announced my singlehood on national newspaper, I could as well go ahead and share the below question too..
I was at this wedding with my mom a few weeks back.. we met one of our old/irritating relatives. She wanted to know if I was a BE, if I have gone to the US, if I have a own house, how much money I made.. If all these questions werent enough, she then went on to ask me how many kids I had and when I told her I was single, she looked at me like I was nuts and then said "you will find someone one day, you just have to keep looking"..
Gosh, I cant believe why it is so tough for people to believe that being single is a choice.. I could change it any day ....IF I WANT to.. but until that time I am single coz I am enjoying it ... :) (I am not sure if this is blog material but well I really dont care :))

Anyway.. i promise my next blog will be a little more sane :)

  1. i cant agree to this one more where someone hits the wrong buttons i tell you,...the general perception of being 'Single' is something to be sympathised with ...otherwise singles are men haters, flirts or incase if its man who is single he's a playboy..n blah blah...it takes a very honest & strong person to declare a stand & that this is my life i chose to live it this way...its choices that define all of us not quick fixes of life:)well choices has its share of struggles...you enjoying it & you are rocking at it!!!...othr hand shalz,..wont blame the aunt she wud hv felt how cud men get so blind that they hvnt noticed your dimples ??!!??..haha..lol;)

  2. Awesome post, Shal...loved reading it... and I liked the "shed" piece ;) LoL, I am as guilty as that girl... I guess our reaction is more out of shock than a way to irritating you :)
